Following Alexander Povetkin testing positive for coronavirus, his rematch with Dillian Whyte has been postponed. The highly-anticipated re-run, that saw Povetkin pull off an upset KO in the first meeting, is being targeted for January 30th.

Following the announcement that his rematch with Povetkin will be postponed, Eddie Hearn has been talking about Whyte potentially fighting Tyson Fury instead. Dereck Chisora has also offered to step in to face Whyte in what would be their trilogy fight. Whyte has also given his take on Deontay Wilder’s recent video, calling him a “coward and a disgrace”. He said that he believes Wilder will never return to the ring after the way he’s acted.

Recently breaking his silence since losing to Tyson Fury in their rematch, Deontay Wilder has produced more reasons for his poor performance. In the interview he denied struggling with any form of depression following the loss and questioned whether something was put in his water at ringside.

Coming in at $50 for US fans and £15 on BT Sports Box Office for UK fans, the announcement has added fuel to the fire of fans questioning the amount of ppvs. Scheduled for the 28th November, the exhibition bout is sure to remain a divisive subject up to and following fight night.
